This activity was great fun. We had to listen to the countdown , watch the balls fly into the air and then collect one and put it in the basket.

Happy Birthday Grace
Happy birthday to you Grace. We hope you had a lovely day.
From everyone in Copper Base.
Attention Circle Fun
What a lot of fun this morning shaking confetti and watching it fall!
Re-telling Fables
Today we enjoyed listening to some short fables – The Hare and the Tortoise, The Ant and the Grasshopper and The Lion and the Mouse. We used picture cards to help us become familiar with the stories, to re-tell the short stories and build on our vocabulary ready for writing.
All the tales have a special message or moral. Ask us to find them out.
New page coming soon….
A new page is being created…it is called the ‘Virtual Library’. Here you will find a virtual bookshelf of some of the books that we will be looking at school along with some other suggestions. I will be asking the children for their input on this and we will put together a children’s suggestions bookshelf and an our favourites bookshelf for you to enjoy at home.
It is as simple as click on the picture of the book and enjoy listening to the story at home with your family.
A post will go on the blog when the page is going live.
Many thanks
Mrs Kenny
Song of the week
We have enjoyed beginning to learn this song this week. Why not try and listen to it at home with your parents and siblings.
Traditional Tales and Fables
We will be listening to and enjoying all types of different traditional stories over the next few weeks. Some of us will be learning to re-tell Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We will be doing lots of fun activities to help us learn about the stories like packing a picnic lunch for grandma, making porridge for baby bear, and building bridges for the goats to cross the river.
Some of us will be looking at different fables and talking about the special messages that they tell us in the stories. We will enjoy the story of The Hare and the Tortoise, The Fox and the Crow and The Ant and the Grasshopper amongst others. Then we will be planning our own stories with special messages based around our own special interests.
Along with this will be getting stuck into our number skills and enjoying lots of maths outside now the weather is getting better.
