Daily Activities

Good Morning Copper Base,

Don’t forget to have a go at reading something today…it can be instructions to ingredients, labels, words on the TV or choose a book on your book shelf. There are also the online reading books – click the Oxford Reading Owl page above.

Check your key words – how many do you know? Which ones can you learn?

Have a go at the number of the day – choose a different number, what do you notice?

Also coming today will be some ideas for you to do for VE day on Friday 8th May and another story. Key an eye on the blog.

Activities in the post

Good Afternoon Copper Base,

Coming your way in the post will be some more activities that have been put together for you to enjoy at home. You may already know about this if we have spoken to you on the phone this week.

It includes, nature hunts, cooking and family games. Have a look through and pick and choose some you like. You do not need to do it all. It is designed for you to have fun and to fit in with your day at home.

It has been so lovely for Mrs Godfrey and myself to talk to you all. We look forward to chatting to you some more over the next few weeks. If you have any questions please send an email or give us a ring, we are always happy to talk to you.

Shapes are all around us

Good Morning Copper Base,

Let’s have a think about shapes today….remember this video we enjoyed so much at school? Have a another look…

There are shapes all around us…in your garden and in your house. Can you spot any?

Have a go at making this handy ‘shape scan’ to find shapes around your house and garden. You can make it using a piece of plain paper, cut a hole in the middle and start hunting… it is as simple as that. Have a look at the example below.

You can draw the shapes you have made, count the corners and the sides. Draw a pictures using lots of different shapes. Enjoy.

Farm Project

Good Morning Copper Base,

We hope that you have had a lovely weekend. This week we are still thinking about the farm. We will also post some craft activities, art activities and some fun maths activities so do keep an eye on the blog this week. Do as much or as little as you would like.

Our questions for this week is….

What does a farmer do all day?

This week we would like you to find out about the life of a farmer. What jobs does he have to do on the farm? How does he look after the animals?

When does he have to plant the crops?

Here is a video to watch about the day in the life of a farmer

This website has lots of useful information and things to look at (parents you need to register to access the resources but it is free and there are lots of great resources)

These programmes have lots to tell you too!

These pictures of farm machines show lots of jobs the farmer has to do….

You can present your work in any way – you could print out pictures of what you have found, draw pictures and write short sentences.

Have fun investigating and please send us some pictures of your jobs!
